About Your Massage

Before your massage
Avoid a large meal, a light snack is ideal.

Refrain from consuming alcohol. Although alcohol can help relax you, it also slows your responses and deadens some sensations.

Jewellery should be removed prior to massage.

If possible, schedule enough time around your massage so you are not rushing before or after.

During your session
You will be asked some general questions about medications, past injuries and surgeries or any tender areas that you wish to avoid.

For a full body massage some clients choose to wear underwear or a swimming costume, others prefer to undress completely. We can work around some clothing, but may affect the overall experience.

Massage should always feel pleasurable. You may request adjustments so you will increase your comfort, such as changes in temperature, light, music, pressure, or headrest position. You may have a favourite CD on if you wish. My goal is to make you feel as comfortable as possible. I will adjust your position (for instance lift your arm) as I work. Feel free to change your position at any time.

Feel at ease during your massage. Many people just close their eyes and relax completely during a session, others prefer to talk. The desire to sigh or take a deep breath is a sign of relaxation. In fact, deep natural breaths actually help you to relax. It is your massage, and whatever feels good to you is the best way to unwind.

A massage session usually begins with relatively gentle contact to calm you and your nervous system and begin releasing superficial tension.

After your session There is no need to hurry, lie still for a few minutes to let the massage sink in. We understand if you just want to rest.
